Short Description
Based out of Barrow and Oconee Counties, we are a bluegrass/acousticana band that loves making music together and finds joy in working toward excellence, creativity, and being entertaining!

We play bluegrass and anything else that feels right! Our music crosses many genres and includes originals, pure bluegrass, blues, gospel, country, and southern rock.

Bios
Jeff Carter is from Newnan, GA and now resides in Winder, GA. He has Undergraduate and Masters degrees in Voice Performance. Jeff plays mandolin, fiddle and guitar, and sings lead and harmony vocals. He grew up playing guitar, but found his home when he found the mandolin and fiddle and acousticana/bluegrass music. Though classically trained, his musical influences are country, folk, country rock and gospel.

Terry Fohey, affectionately known as "T", resides in Greensboro, GA and plays banjo and resonator guitar. He has a strong bluegrass background, yet his influences also include classic southern rock and folk music. A successful businessman, he brings the same work ethic that made his business a success to 3 Bucks Shy and his banjo work.

Larry Germain, bassist, lives in Winder, GA. He grew up singing in the church choir, took eight years of drum lessons, and taught himself to play keyboards, guitar and bass. A veteran of the Georgia “bar band” circuit, playing classic rock and R&B, he was introduced to bluegrass music in 2010 during a week-long festival in southeastern Kentucky. His years in the choir allow him to range from bass to soprano when harmonizing.

Gary Scott resides in Statham, GA. He plays guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals. Gary is also a skilled songwriter and our sets include many of his originals. Though his background and influences are in folk and rock, his soaring high vocals and harmonies are a perfect fit for bluegrass. His strong guitar work brings fresh originality to bluegrass standards.

Band Influences
Bluegrass, newgrass, country, southern rock, acousticana., gospel, and country.
