TIMOTHY O'CONNELL AND LIAM PARKE
SATURDAY, MAY 27, 2017

"O'Connell & Parke" is a Americana/Folk duo from Athens comprised of Timothy O'Connell and Liam Parke. Both are noted songwriters playing original music in their unique style and are seasoned artists whose song styles span the roots of American music. Their songs communicate the commonality of human experience: joy, laughter, heartache, love, loss, and hope.

Tim O'Connell has had a lifelong career in all aspects of the music and entertainment business: performance, composition, arrangement, recording artist/engineer, production and promotion. For over four decades, he has performed on stages throughout the United States, Asia and South America and has recorded five albums of original music.

In 2004, O'Connell was nominated for two Wisconsin WAMI awards: the first for Album of the Year, for his critically-acclaimed release, "Cold in Wisconsin", and the second for Songwriter of the Year. And in 2005, he received two WAMI nominations: Acoustic Performer of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year.

Liam Parke is the front man and leader of The Celtic Pub Band, "Repent at Leisure". This band has played at No. 3 Railroad Street two times, and Parke has played once with surprise guests. Originally a songwriter in the early 1970's in Detroit, Parke gravitated to film as an award-winning Independent Film Producer/Writer from 1980 to the present. Parke returned to performing music in 2014. Mr. Parke is Producer/Host of the well-known monthly singer-songwriter showcase, "The Best of Unknown Athens with Liam Parke", at The Foundry (Athens GA) and is developing the show for PBS in both its TV and FM Radio broadcasts. Over 100 singer-songwriters have appeared on the show.
