Sunday Songwriters' Revival
Every Third Sunday of the month, "Mojo" Mark Wilmot hosts local and regional songwriters who showcase original songs and tell us the stories that inspired them. Mark is an Athens native who grew up singing the songs his Granny taught him on their rides through the hills of Northeast Georgia. He sings his own songs in the Athens area with the Redstone Ramblers, including many times at No. 3 Railroad Street. Please see the Events Page for details and the Photo Pages for images of their events. Mark is eager to help promote local songwriters through this monthly event.

About Liam Parke
Liam Parke is a singer-songwriter from Athens, Georgia and front man-leader for two bands: "Americana/Irish Modern & Trad/Greengrass" project called "True Born Sons" (all original music) and "Repent at Leisure", The Irish Rock Band. Both bands have played No. 3 Railroad Street: "Repent at Leisure" on March 25, 2016 and on January 21, 2017; and "True Born Sons" on July 14, 2017. He has also played at No. 3 Railroad Street with other performers on April 1, 2017.

Originally a song-writing teen with Solid Hitbound Productions in the late 1960's and early 1970's (Detroit subsidiary of Jobette) he gravitated to film as an Independent Film Producer/Writer from 1980 to the present with his companies Park Film Group LTD and First Cousins Film Company LLC. A new film, "Black Beat", is currently in pre-production.

Parke is the Producer/Host of the well-known monthly singer-songwriter showcase, "The Best of Unknown Athens with Liam Parke", at one of Athens' premier venues, The Foundry, and is preparing the show for PBS Radio distribution. Over 185 singer-songwriters have appeared on the show over the past 3 1/2 years.

Today, he played with Jason Elder on guitar.

About Dodd Ferrelle
Winterville Mayor Dodd Ferrelle was born in Wilson, North Carolina. Shortly thereafter, he moved back to Savannah, Georgia, where his family has lived for five generations. He moved to Athens in January 1993.

Though he lived in the area for several years, Mayor Ferrelle has officially called Winterville home since December 2005. He was elected Mayor of Winterville, GA., on November 4, 2015. His swearing in ceremony was held at City Hall on January 5, 2016.

Over twenty years ago, Ferrelle began working in Athens as a driver for Hagemeyer North America. Today, he is an Account Specialist for that same company, where he manages a multi-million dollar territory spanning several counties. He has been awarded President's Club five years in a row.

In addition, he is a musician, artist, and children's book author. Mayor Ferrelle wrote the interactive children's book "If You Were a Jellybean," which features beautiful illustrations by his wife, Cameron Bliss Ferrelle. The book was a 2014 Georgia Writer's Association Author of the Year Award nominee.

Since moving to Winterville, Mayor Ferrelle has been an active member of the community. As a member of the Civitan Club, he worked to bring Christmas Tree Sales to Winterville. He is also a member of the Winterville Elementary School PTO, the Winterville School Council, and the Winterville Library Board.

Since 2009, Ferrelle has hosted a fundraiser to benefit the Athens Banner-Herald's Empty Stocking Fund, which helps struggling Athenians make ends meet during the holiday season. The event features a showcase of local musicians, many of whom are residents of Winterville, and an art auction.

Mayor Ferrelle has three children: Dodd Jr. (9), Bliss (8) and Lucas (4). His wife, Cameron, is a local artist. - From cityofwinterville.com/mayor

Dodd Ferrelle and the WinterVillains are currently working on their first record under that name. The band has been working on "Summer Hearts" off an on for 2 years with Grammy nominated producer John Keane. Many of the members have played with Dodd at some point in his career so this will be a bridging of many of the best parts of bands past. Those long time relationships have shone through on this record with an understated sweep of melodic and sonic sound-scaping beneath Ferrelle's plaintive and endearing vocals. The band hopes to finish the record by December 2018 for an early 2019 release. - From doddferrelle.com

Today, he played with Adam Poulin on violin.
