Yes MA'AM Family Band

Do Not miss this Event! We may have to bust out the walls, waylay the cops and turn off the power to end this show. You will regret not being here!

They are playing together in at least fourteen events in the SouthEast in the first half of this year! And they each play in other bands as well! Listen and read on ...

Yes MA'AM Family Band opens for The Indigo Girls at Terminal West, Atlanta, January 14, 2025

From their website, yesmaamfamilyband.com, All in the family ... An epic Georgia music collaboration - Yes MA'AM Family Band is a traveling feast of the very best in Georgia music! Spanning multiple decades of love and friendship across multiple genres, fans are dazzled by the appearance of these remarkable artists on one stage together!

Now, they are bringing this music family vibe to the Yes, MA'AM Family Band. With 4-part harmonies to live for; guitar mastery that runs the full gamut of aching subtlety, acoustic intensity, and soulful electricity; and commanding piano that passionately rouses the senses, YMFB is truly a musical group like no other.

And band member Caroline Aiken writes that "Athenians Caroline Aiken and Micheal Wegner team up with Atlantans Trina Meade (Three5Human) and Liz Melendez to form tight harmonies and searing guitars. Dancing is allowed! We have three and four part harmonies. Rocking/Bluesy, acoustic (no drums or bass) piano, and three guitars. I'm looking forward to this ...!"

Trina Meade is from Atlanta and is a powerful solo and band vocalist in Five3Human and Yes MA'AM Family Band

"Something happens when we're on stage together. I don't even think we know what it is." -Tomi Martin

[In Five3Human and others] Tomi Martin on guitar and Trina Mead on vocals have been compared to many things since working together. Their most flattering is the comparison to Mother's Finest. "Since they are our mentors from day one,we'll take it!!" says Trina. A long musical relationship with these two has been going on since the early 90's. From touring with artists like TLC, Toni Braxton, Outkast and the Indigo Girls to working on records for Madonna, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, Stevie Nicks and Caroline Aiken this duo has laid a legacy many would die for.

Tomi and Trina have written a brand new record "No Notes Wasted" with original members Melly Baldwin & Sean Michael Ray and the fire is still there! "Rock and roll is and always will be the tie that binds for Tomi Martin and Trina Meade." - from three5humannonoteswasted.com?

Caroline Aiken was one of No. 3 Railroad Street's first performers, back in May 14 with Todd Lister and August 27 of 2016. Mark Wilmot brought her to one of his Mojo Sunday Songwriters Festivals, along with Carly Simon, on February 17, 2019. Fester Hagood had her, along with Scott Low, in the present extension of that series, in June 9, 2023. And she played solo here on September 14, 2024. Check out these event pages for comments, pictures and more links.

Caroline Aiken is an internationally recognized musician and songwriter. She is a Georgia music icon and mentor to well-known artists including the Indigo Girls and Shawn Mullins. Her remarkable command of multiple instruments parallels her masterful songwriting and inimitable vocal style. She is a mainstay of the international folk scene, headlining major festivals such as the Kerrville Folk Festival and Mendocino Music Festival. Caroline's fanbase spans the globe as she tours venues and festivals across the United States and Europe.

She tours solo, tours with her band The Caroline Aiken Band, gives private performance and music lessons, conducts the "Zen and the Art of Performance" Workshop, performs for local and national charities and is the Athens-Clarke County Chapter president of guitarsnotguns.org (guitars and lessons for kids at risk).

In 2012, she was the featured performer on NPR's "Mountain Stage" at the UGA Performing Arts Center along with Randall Bramblett and Patterson Hood of the Drive By Truckers

In 2015, Caroline released her 9th CD: Broken Wings Heal, with special guests Emily Saliers (of the Indigo Girls), John Keane (GRAMMY nominated producer and musician), Michelle Malone, Ike Stubblefield (Legendary Motown B3) and Randall Bramblett (who has played with Bonnie Raitt, Steve Winwood, and the Allman Brothers). It has become a classic.

Liz Melendez [who has her own band, the Liz Melendez Band] is considered by many to be one of the top lead guitarists in the country, her live performances demonstrate her versatility, often paying homage to her influences as a highlight to her own clearly defined lead guitar and vocal style.

Liz currently has three album releases to her credit showcasing her talents as a songwriter, arranger, and producer. She has performed on stage with such notables as Bob Margolin, Henry Butler, Francine Reed, Hubert Sumlin, E.G. Kight, Chris Duarte and Candye Kane. Michael Wegner writes in his website, michaelwegner.com/ ... The Beatles. Nick Drake. The Replacements. Scott Joplin. Joni Mitchell. Vic Chesnutt. Madonna. Andrew Lloyd Webber. Rush. Jerry Garcia. Weird Al Yankovic.

What do all these musical entities have in common? They are just a few of Michael Wegner's primary influences. He believes there's too much great music in the world to be limited by any particular style preferences. Ever since learning piano at age five, Michael has immersed himself in numerous genres of music, and has rarely let a day go by without picking up an instrument and expressing himself in song.

For the past four decades, Michael has performed with bands and accompanying solo artists, playing music written by amazing songwriters both famous and obscure. This musical journey has led him to share stages across the USA with Indigo Girls, Juliana Hatfield, River Phoenix, Lemonheads, Michael Stipe, Caroline Aiken, Danielle Howle and many others.

The music from these collaborations has been folky, punky, jazzy, funky, poppy, ambient, funny, theatrical, kid-centric ... but always spirited and in-the-moment. Michael's ability to lend musical support to great songs has seen him perform at venues all over the USA, including Red Rocks in Colorado, Atlanta's Fox Theatre and the Oregon Country Fair. Each time Michael walks onto a stage, he strives to make a personal connection with the audience.
