Janet and Dennis Smillie join "The Original Screw Tops" under the name "Janet and The Blue Dogs." Dennis Smillie is the former lead guitarist of "The Lucky Jones" and Janet Smillie is his powerhouse vocalist wife. Joining the "Screw Tops" will surely delight blues fans, in particular. The concert this evening is the Athens Debut for this combined band. See the Event Page for their second performance here on January 25, 2020.
We welcomed "The Original Screw Tops" for their first visit to No. 3 Railroad Street on February 9, 2019. The band was excellent! Glenn said it was his kind of music and very well played. A good-size house and a very appreciative audience, with slapping the tables, shouting, dancing and more. They returned on August 24, 2019.
The "Screw Tops" have been part of the local musical scene since 2012. They have performed in various venues in and around Athens (places like Hendershots, The Office Lounge, and The Foundry to name a few). They do a combination of original tunes and classics of the blues. The band's present lineup is:

Jeff Evans – Bass
Marcelo Buril – Guitar and Vocals
